Welcome. I’m so glad you are here. I’m Beth, the host of the A Well-Read Life podcast. I am a bibliophile through and through, and I am always dreaming of the perfect bookshop or cozy corner to curl up with a good book.
It all began in the early months of 2019, when in the happiest of interruptions, we welcomed our daughter into our home. In those early infant months, I read to her one well-loved book after the other from my childhood—always searching for the true, the lovely, and the beautiful. As I looked for good books to read to my daughter, a spark of creativity was rekindled. I returned to the idea of a podcast (an idea I had placed on the back burner for years). And after months of re-reading my favorite books and writing and rewriting scripts, this podcast was born.
Throughout my life, I have witnessed the power of stories to draw one closer to God and how they show His gracious work in our lives. At A Well-Read Life, I seek to find stories that speak the truth about the human condition- the tragedy of sin in the world, but also of the grace and beauty existing beside it. I search for books that will enchant the reader (and listener) and bolster one in a weary and disenchanted world. I desire to remind the reader of the hope that God gives us through these stories.
